I am not the bound dragon. I am not a dragon. I do not wish to be a dragon.
Satan, he is the dragon. And Christ, he is the dragon slayer. He has bound the dragon.
So, why the name “The Bound Dragon”?
The Bound Dragon is the blog of a postmillennialist who believes what the Scriptures teach, namely, that Christ has indeed bound the dragon. And what does this mean for us? It means that satan is no longer a viable threat. He is no longer deceiving the nations. He is no longer to be feared. As Peter wrote in his epistle, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
If satan is now bound, it means much for the Church. Christ has been given all authority both in heaven and on earth–he is Lord of all the earth, this is not satan’s world. And as Lord of all the earth, he has commanded us to go into all the world making disciples of the nations. This world is meant to be redeemed, and with satan out of the way, not even the gates of hell will prevail against us.
May this blog inspire Christians to take seriously the Church’s duty of beautifying, redeeming all of creation. From Church to State, science to art, music to sports, people to animals, let us be little dragon slayers redeeming all of life, calling all unto the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
